An Angel on a Mission
On this Thanksgiving Day we all have many things to be thankful for. For some it is good health, security, a job, a home to live in, our church and freedoms that we too often take for granted. For people like Lisa Travin it is thanks for the kind and potentially life-saving act of a stranger.
Lisa was walking with her one year old daughter in a stroller in their southwest Houston neighborhood when a very aggressive pitbull-mastiff mix dog came after them. Lisa pulled the hood down on the stroller and put her own body in the way to protect her daughter. Suddenly a man in a white SUV drove at an angle beeping his horn to scare off the dog. The dog didn’t frighten. He bumped the dog but that didn’t stop it either. He jumped out of the SUV with pepper spray and a glove risking his own safety and went after the dog which was being aggressive. He sprayed toward the dog and it finally ran off. Meanwhile Lisa and her baby began running toward home. The man then drove his SUV next to them until they were safely home and then he drove off.
Lisa would like to thank the man for risking his own safety and being there at exactly the right time. She has no idea who he is or where he came from. Perhaps he was an angel on a mission.
